Job summary

Malcolm X College’s OIT aims to support student outcomes by delivering a technology environment that enhances teaching, learning, and operations. As Associate Director, you will oversee IT staff, manage simulation tech and instructional tools, and ensure reliable systems for the campus and its Virtual Hospital, Nursing, and Health Sciences labs.

You will collaborate with executive leadership, drive IT strategy, and coordinate with vendors while promoting professional development and inclusive IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field.
• 4 years of supervisory and relevant IT work experience.
• Experience in instructional technology support, Help Desk, or simulation tech desirable.
• Advanced computer skills required.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Executive Director to implement IT strategies and support models.
• Manage IT staff and operations for instructional/simulation tech, Help Desk, labs, events, system management, and user support.
• Monitor workloads and staff performance to ensure high-quality IT services.
• Lead projects to enhance operational efficiency of computer systems, networks, and infrastructure.
• Oversee simulation equipment maintenance for the college's labs.
• Coordinate with vendors for servicing of systems and equipment.
• Provide staff training and professional development opportunities.
• Participate in interviews and selection of IT staff; manage personnel actions.
