Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 4–6 years of experience in a financial aid office in higher education
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Experience in managing at least one financial aid program
• Ability to multi-task and quickly shift between tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
• Knowledgeable about federal and state laws and rules
• Knowledge of federal database applications (EDConnect, FPP, COD, NSLDS, EDExpress)
• General knowledge in MS Office applications
• Ability to work extended hours
• Experience with PowerFAIDS or similar system

Responsibilities

• Assist prospective and enrolled students and families in all aspects of the financial aid process.
• Oversee management, awarding, reporting, and reconciliation of financial aid programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
• Provide training to staff and serve as liaison to Admissions.
• Counsel students and families regarding financial aid and planning.
• Revise awards and reflect changes in eligibility or budgets.
• Hire and supervise student workers and handle payroll information.
• Present to stakeholders about financial aid; collaborate to achieve university goals.
