Job summary

Stevens Community seeks an Associate Director of Financial Aid for Student Services to oversee aid programs, ensure compliance, and counsel students and families on financial planning. You will manage eligibility, awards, and reporting while supporting enrollment goals.

Required are strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, plus experience with PowerFAIDS and federal aid rules; occasional extended hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• Four to six years of experience in a financial aid office or related higher education setting.
• Experience in managing at least one financial aid program.
• Ability to multi-task and quickly shift between tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
• Knowledgeable about federal and state laws and rules.
• Knowledge of federal database applications (EDConnect, FPP, COD, NSLDS, EDExpress).
• General knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Ability to work extended hours.
• Experience with CollegeBoard PowerFAIDS or a similar financial aid management system.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management, awarding, reporting, and reconciliation of one or more financial aid programs.
• Provide support to monitoring compliance in the financial aid management system (PowerFAIDS).
• Manage the Pre-College aid eligibility and awarding process.
• Identify recurring pain points in the student experience and propose solutions with leadership.
• Counsel students and families regarding all aspects of financial aid and planning.
• Revise awards to reflect changes in eligibility or budget adjustments.
• Exercise professional judgment in special circumstances.
• Review applications and determine financial aid offers for new and returning students.
• Perform Title IV verification and related reviews.
• Hire and supervise student workers and manage payroll information.
• Provide financial aid training to staff as needed.
• Serve as Undergraduate Admissions liaison to ensure proper packaging and counseling.
