Job summary

Stevens Institute of Technology seeks an Assistant Director/Counselor to help administer the Stevens Technical Enrichment Program. You will lead counseling programs, oversee tutoring services, and collaborate with CAPS to support students’ academic and personal development.

The role requires coordinating two summer programs, partnering with departments, and contributing to workshops with external groups. Evening/weekend hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 1–3 years related experience; master’s degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary counselor providing individual and group counseling and related support.
• Manage a comprehensive tutoring program: assess needs, recruit, hire, train, and supervise tutors.
• Collaborate with CAPS to enable student access to appropriate assistance.
• Partner with Department Director to plan and operate two summer programs.
• Collaborate with student organizations and university departments to host workshops and seminars.
• Assist EOF recruitment activities and evaluate EOF financial eligibility.
• Track student academic performance with Undergraduate Academics and Academic Support Center.
• Submit EOF annual performance report to EOF Central.
• Arrange and accompany EOF students to off-campus events.
• Stay current with student development research and implement related initiatives.
• Contribute to budget forecasting and planning.
• Perform duties of director in their absence and supervise graduate assistant.
• Complete other tasks; evening and weekend hours required.
