Job summary

Genesys seeks an Associate Corporate Counsel in Indiana to own drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements, including cloud services and SaaS, NDAs, and related documents. You will partner with Sales and cross-functional teams to manage risk while enabling growth in North America.

The role requires a JD, active U.S. bar membership, and 2+ years of legal experience, ideally in-house, with strong contract drafting and practical business advice.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the bar of a U.S. state or territory.
• 2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably including in-house experience.
• Strong experience in commercial contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
• Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice with sound judgment.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and collaboration across functions.
• Ability to manage complex workloads and work independently with good judgment.
• Knowledge of data privacy, data security, and AI considerations in tech transactions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including cloud/SaaS, NDAs, RFPs, SOWs, licenses, BAAs, and DPAs.
• Drive transactions toward timely closure balancing business needs and risk.
• Advise on data privacy, data security, and AI considerations in transactions.
• Develop scalable contract templates for recurring transactions and evolving models.
• Coordinate with Sales, Privacy, Security, Product, Finance, and others to align strategy.
• Improve contracting efficiency through templates, playbooks, and best practices.
• Monitor legal/regulatory developments affecting cloud software and AI to provide practical guidance.
• Provide clear, business-oriented legal advice and responsibly handle complex matters.
