Job summary

Genesys seeks a Commercial Corporate Counsel to support North America sales on cloud and SaaS transactions, data privacy, security, and AI matters. You will draft and negotiate agreements, develop scalable templates, and partner with Sales and cross-functional teams to drive business-friendly contracting standards.

You will provide practical legal guidance, balance risk with opportunity, and help shape contracting playbooks at scale within a dynamic tech environment.

Qualifications

• Must have JD or equivalent.
• Active bar membership in the U.S. and authorization to work in the United States.
• 2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house.
• Strong drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts.
• Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance with sound judgment.
• Excellent stakeholder communication across sales, privacy, security, product, and finance.
• Capacity to manage complex workloads and prioritize independently.
• Experience with data privacy, security, and AI issues in tech transactions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including cloud/SaaS transactions.
• Balance business objectives with legal risk to drive timely resolutions.
• Advise Sales and stakeholders on data privacy, security, AI, and related issues.
• Develop scalable contract templates and playbooks for recurring transactions.
• Collaborate across Sales, Privacy, Security, Product Counsel, and Finance to align contracting strategy.
• Contribute to standards and templates to improve contracting efficiency.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate into practical guidance for internal teams.
• Provide business-oriented legal advice and resolve complex matters within authority.
