Job summary

DLA Piper seeks an associate to join its Litigation group, specializing in Product Liability, Mass Torts & Class Actions, to support the Class Actions practice. The role is open to any US office with a preference for New York metropolitan area candidates and offers a hybrid work arrangement.

The ideal candidate has a JD, 4+ years of litigation experience (preferably at a large firm), and a proven track record in class action defense and complex discovery.

Qualifications

• JD required with bar admission in the jurisdiction where applying.
• Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Experience defending class actions including securities, data/privacy, or consumer litigation.
• Strong persuasive legal writing and discovery management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and draft briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Manage complex cases from inception to resolution, including trial preparation and strategy development.
• Interact with clients and collaborate with partners to develop innovative case strategies.
• Coordinate large-scale discovery across multi-matter dockets.
• Attend hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trials as needed.
