Job summary

DLA Piper seeks an associate to join its Litigation group, specializing in Product Liability, Mass Torts & Class Actions. This role supports class action defense, including securities, data/privacy, or consumer litigation, with preference for candidates in the New York metropolitan area and openness to any US office.

Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience from a top AmLaw 100 firm, strong legal writing, and docket management skills are required.

Qualifications

• JD degree required.
• Bar admission in applicable jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
• Draft high-quality legal documents including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Assist/manage complex cases/transactions from inception to resolution, including trials, negotiations, settlements, and closings.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships with timely updates and professional conduct.
• Collaborate with other lawyers and professionals to develop innovative case strategies for favorable outcomes.
• Participate in hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trials as required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and firm policies; engage in ongoing professional development.
• Engage in firm citizenship and pro bono activities as part of professional responsibilities.
