Job summary

Build-A-Bear in San Diego's Fashion Valley Mall is seeking a Full Time Assistant Manager to support the store manager in operations and guest service.

The role focuses on staffing, coaching Bear Builders, driving sales, merchandising, and ensuring adherence to brand standards while delivering an exceptional Guest experience.

You will manage shifts, assist in hiring, and help execute marketing strategies to contribute to store success and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience, with a proven, successful history in a customer-centric business.
• High school diploma.
• Basic understanding in the use of common store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager in daily assignments and directing work.
• Hire and promote staff; provide feedback on selection and advancement.
• Lead shifts, enforce policies, and handle disciplinary actions and store security.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader; coach Bear Builders and enhance Guest experience.
• Ensure merchandising displays align with brand standards.
• Oversee inventory management, including receiving and counts.
