Job summary

YMCA of the Inland Northwest is hiring an Assistant Teacher for the EWU Managed Children’s Center in Cheney, WA. You will help create an inclusive learning environment, build relationships with children and families, and support daily activities under the supervision of the Lead Teacher.

The role requires meeting DCYF licensing standards, completing required trainings within 30 days, and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; ECE certificate preferred.
• Experience with children in developmental, diverse setting preferred.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate activities.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate positive relationships with children, families and coworkers.
• Support in classrooms by supervising and engaging children in purposeful programming.
• Adhere to DCYF Licensing, Early Achievers and YMCA standards; follow safety procedures.
