Union County Community Action, Inc. in Monroe, NC seeks an Assistant Teacher / Bus Driver to support preschool classrooms and transport children safely. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:45am–2:45pm (40 hours/week) with starting pay up to $18.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/ GED & CDA. Six months to one year of related experience preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field preferred. Six months to one year of related experience preferred.
• EDU 119 required
• CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
• Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson plans
• Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development
• Maintain classroom documentation and records
• Supervise children in classroom and outdoor settings
• Assist with transportation by driving or monitoring buses
• Build positive relationships with children and families

Union County Community Action, Inc.   Physical Requirements
  Must be able to actively supervise young children in classroom and outdoor environments, assist children on and off the bus, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
