Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. is seeking a dependable Teacher’s Aide to assist Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms in Monroe, NC. You will support teachers with daily activities, supervise children, and help with family engagement.

The role starts at $14 per hour with a 40-hour work week. A DHS/CPR certification and a valid driver’s license are required, along with background checks and health screenings. UCCA offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA Credential preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Start or grow your early childhood career while helping children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. UCCA is seeking a dependable Classroom Aide to assist teachers in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms.

You will support daily activities, child supervision, classroom organization, and family engagement as part of a collaborative education team.

Starting Rate: $14 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:45am-2:45pm or 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours/week)

Physical Demands

Must be able to actively assist with classroom activities, supervise children in indoor and outdoor environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
