Union County Community Action, Inc. is hiring an Assistant Teacher / Bus Driver for Head Start Preschool in Hamlet, NC. The role combines classroom support with safe transportation of children, offering a stable Monday–Friday schedule and pays up to $18.50 per hour.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, supporting early childhood development, and maintaining records. Minimum education includes high school diploma/GED with CDA; CDL and CPR/First Aid are required or obtainable within

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and CDA; 6–12 months related experience preferred.
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field preferred; 6 months to 1 year experience.
• EDU 119 is required.
• CDL is required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test; random drug screenings.

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking a caring, dependable professional to support our Head Start preschool classrooms while also assisting with the safe transportation of children to and from school. Starting Rate: Up to $18.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:45am-2:45pm (40 hours/week)

• Assistant Teacher/ Bus Driver I: High School Diploma/ GED & Child Development Associate (CDA). Six months to one year of related experience preferred
• Assistant Teacher/ Bus Driver II: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field preferred. Six months to one year of related experience preferred
• EDU 119 required
• CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
• Valid driver’s license required

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively supervise young children in classroom and outdoor environments, assist children on and off the bus, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
