Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking a caring, dependable professional to support preschool classrooms and assist with safe transportation of children to and from school. This role offers a stable Monday–Friday schedule, benefits, and growth opportunities.

The position includes duties in early childhood education and transportation, with a starting rate up to $18.50 per hour and a Monday–Friday 6:45am-2:45pm schedule in Monroe, NC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with CDA credentials.
• CDL license required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Maintain classroom documentation and records.
• Supervise children in classroom and outdoor settings.
• Assist with transportation by driving or monitoring buses.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking a caring, dependable professional to support our preschool classrooms while also assisting with the safe transportation of children to and from school. Starting Rate: Up to $18.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:45am-2:45pm (40 hours/week)

• Assistant Teacher/ Bus Driver I: High School Diploma/ GED & Child Development Associate (CDA). Six months to one year of related experience preferred
• Assistant Teacher/ Bus Driver II: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field preferred. Six months to one year of related experience preferred
• EDU 119 required
• CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively supervise young children in classroom and outdoor environments, assist children on and off the bus, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
