This is an emergency essential role requiring readiness to respond before, during, and after severe storms or other events.

Responsibilities include directing crews, prioritizing work, budgeting input, enforcing safety, and coordinating equipment usage to maximize efficiency.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of progressively responsible public works experience, preferably at the local government level.
• One year of supervisory-level experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Aufgaben

• Performs as a leader within the Streets Department with direct supervision and mentorship of various levels of team members with varying skill sets.
• Plans, directs, assigns, inspects, approves and supervises the work of equipment operators, trades workers (concrete, asphalt, masonry) and maintenance workers engaged in construction, maintenance and repair projects.
• Assigns and adjusts priorities for work projects.
• Transfers team members from one project to another as workload changes.
• Coordinates the use of available equipment to obtain maximum utility and convenience.
• Checks each project for progress and conformance to work plans.
