Job summary

The City of Port St. Lucie is seeking a supervisor to direct public works crews responsible for storm water drainage and street maintenance. You will manage equipment operators, coordinate tasks, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Qualified applicants will have several years of heavy equipment experience, strong communication, and the ability to operate under emergency conditions. This is an essential position with 24/7 readiness during city emergencies.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma required.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with heavy construction equipment and three (3) years of maintenance experience and/or roadway construction and street repair experience required.
• Must have above average communication skills and be able to work well in groups and/or with crews.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, directs, and leads work crews in maintaining, repairing, and constructing storm water drainage systems and streets.
• Oversees and guides heavy equipment operators and maintenance staff on projects city-wide.
• Ensures safety practices, daily logs, and on-the-job training are followed.
