Job summary

The City of Panama City is seeking a semi-skilled laborer to perform street cleaning and litter removal along roads and rights-of-way. This emergency essential role supports storm readiness and post-disaster recovery under the Director of Public Works.

Requirements include a high school diploma (preferred), a valid driver’s license, and 1 year of manual labor experience. Must work safely around traffic and with the public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of manual labor experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Collect and remove litter from designated roadways and rights-of-way.
• Load and unload filled litter bags at designated locations.
• Set up and remove highway awareness signs throughout the day.
• Maintain traffic control to keep the area safe.
• Perform trash pickup and empty garbage carts from curbsides.
• Remove spilled garbage and debris from grounds and receptacles.
• Inspect and maintain truck and equipment; report issues to supervisor.
• Communicate via two-way radio and respond to dispatch requests.
• Collaborate with team and public; refer concerns to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
