Stretch Zone is seeking an assertive Assistant Studio Manager to lead on-site afternoon, evening, and weekend studio operations in West Des Moines, IA. You will drive membership sales, manage practitioner schedules, and ensure a high‑quality studio culture with strong accountability.

Collaborating with the Area Manager, you will keep the appointment pipeline full, coordinate shift handoffs, and support local marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory or assistant management experience in fitness/health/retail/hospitality
• Proven consultative sales and closing memberships experience
• Interest in health, wellness, kinesiology, or athletic training
• Experience with social media content creation and local events
• Willingness to commit to Tue-Fri 1-8pm and Sat 8-4pm

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership during peak evening/weekend hours and oversee shifts
• Lead member consultations and convert demos to memberships
• Follow up on digital leads and maintain demo schedule

Assistant Studio Manager

About the Role

Stretch Zone is seeking an assertive, energetic, and dependable Assistant Studio Manager to lead on-site afternoon, evening, and weekend studio operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary operational anchor and closer during peak studio hours—managing practitioner schedules, taking the lead on membership sales and consultations, driving outreach, and running local marketing initiatives.

Working in close coordination with the Area Manager during daily shift transitions, you will maintain high standards of workplace accountability, keep the appointment pipeline full, and build an exceptional in-studio culture. While the primary focus is studio management and driving sales, for candidates with a background or strong interest in health, fitness, or exercise science, there is an optional opportunity to complete paid Stretch Zone certification to deliver sessions on the floor as needed.

Schedule & Hours

• Schedule: Tuesday – Friday (1:00 PM – 8:00 PM) & Saturday (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week (Full-Time)
• Days Off: Sunday & Monday

Key Responsibilities

• Floor Leadership & Accountability: Provide a commanding, mature leadership presence during peak evening and weekend hours. Oversee practitioner shift attendance, maintain facility standards, and foster an upbeat, high-accountability team environment.
• Direct Sales & Member Consultations: Serve as the primary sales driver in the studio. Conduct member consultations, present the value of practitioner-assisted stretching, and convert introductory demo appointments into recurring memberships.
• Pipeline & Lead Management: Proactively follow up on digital leads, call missed appointments, and ensure consistent booking volume for the demo schedule.
• Marketing, Events & Social Media: Plan and execute local grassroots marketing events, health fairs, and community pop-ups. Manage studio social media channels with engaging content to build local brand awareness.
• Scheduling & Shift Execution: Oversee daily appointment schedules, address coverage gaps, and conduct smooth shift handoffs with the management team to maintain uninterrupted studio operations.
• Optional Floor Support: For certified or qualified candidates interested in hands‑on work, provide occasional practitioner floor coverage using proprietary protocols.

Qualifications & Ideal Profile

• Demonstrated Leadership Experience: 2+ years of supervisory, team‑lead, or assistant management experience (fitness, wellness, health, retail, or hospitality preferred). A grounded professional who naturally leads by example and holds staff accountable.
• Proven Sales Record: Demonstrated success in consultative sales, lead pipeline follow-up, and closing memberships against revenue targets.
• Fitness / Wellness Affinity: A genuine interest in health, wellness, kinesiology, or athletic training (practitioner certification available as an optional pathway for interested candidates).
• Marketing & Community Outreach Savvy: Experience with social media content creation and organizing local community partnership events.
• Schedule Reliability: Full availability and commitment to the required Tuesday through Saturday afternoon/evening/weekend schedule.
