Job summary

Family Dollar in Miami Shores, FL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help organize merchandise, assist with opening/closing, and ensure store policies are followed while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include supervising and training store associates, managing inventory and cash handling, and upholding company standards for cleanliness and promotional displays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain positive, safe environment with customers and staff
• Keep store clean including bathrooms, floors, trash, neat presentation
• Other duties as assigned
