Job summary

Family Dollar in Florida is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers in a positive manner, and support the Store Manager in supervising and training Store Associates.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, work in a fast-paced environment, and adhere to policies while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform common store duties with physical activity.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store fronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom; protect store assets.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
