Job summary

Roses Discount Store in South Hill, VA is seeking an Assistant Manager/Key Carrier to support the Store Manager and provide excellent customer service while overseeing daily store operations. You will help hire, train and develop team members, manage opening and closing procedures, and safeguard company assets.

The role requires effective communication, teamwork and flexibility for a full-time or part-time schedule, with benefits including health coverage, retirement plans and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Ability to lift, bend and transport merchandise up to 50 lbs; frequent walking and standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, training and development of store team members.
• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a professional environment.
• Direct supervisory responsibility for hourly team members when Store Manager is away.
