Job summary

Family Dollar in Erie, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help organize, stock, and display merchandise while ensuring clean, safe conditions and adherence to company policies.

The role involves assisting with opening/closing, payroll and scheduling tasks, and supervising Store Associates. This is a part-time position with opportunities to grow within a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and required to read directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies including safety guidelines and store procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash, keep areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
