Job summary

Family Dollar in Maplewood, MN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, assist customers, and develop team members. You will organize merchandise flow from truck to floor, perform opening/closing duties, and ensure promotions and displays remain effective.

Ideal candidates have strong communication skills, retail experience, and the ability to manage payroll, scheduling, and cash handling while maintaining store safety and a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must have basic reading and interpretation of directives.
• Retail management experience preferred in grocery or drug stores.
• Ability to perform lifting and physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Support customer service with a positive, approachable manner.
• Help organize merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain store displays.
• Maintain stockroom and floor according to company standards.
• Assist in ordering, damage processing, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Protect store assets and ensure safety policies are followed.
• Help supervise and develop store associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
