Family Dollar in Wilson, NC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise handling, open/close procedures, and store upkeep.

You will coach and supervise store associates, ensure compliance with company policies, and help maintain a welcoming, safe shopping environment while delivering strong service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, restocking bathrooms, cleaning floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
