Job summary

Family Dollar in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, organize merchandise, train associates, maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, and ensure accurate cash handling and inventory control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to train and develop store associates.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store functions and activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and maintain records including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and display effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets including cash and security.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment in interactions with customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
