Job summary

Family Dollar in Fayetteville, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, help customers, and develop a high-performing team. You will assist with daily activities, supervision, and training while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.

The role emphasizes loss prevention, payroll/scheduling, merchandising, and adherence to company policies. This position is part-time and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect store assets, including cash
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and store procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable
