Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with store functions, greet customers, organize merchandise and support opening and closing procedures.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving, and a collaborative, high-energy team environment; experience in retail or grocery is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
