Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with daily store functions, organize merchandise, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, adhering to corporate directives, managing displays, and supporting the Store Manager in training and supervising store associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent movement and lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required for effective collaboration
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver exceptional customer service
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives and related store communications
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders
• Keep store clean, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation
• Other duties as assigned
