Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to contribute to store operations, customer service, and team development. The role supports the Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing store associates while ensuring a positive, safe, and friendly environment for customers and staff.

The position involves opening/closing duties, merchandise organization, loss prevention, and maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; able to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent standing, walking, and other physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.
