Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. The role supports opening/closing, merchandising, scheduling, payroll and loss prevention to maintain a well‑organized store.

You’ll train and guide associates while keeping a safe, customer‑friendly environment. The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and prior retail leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment with strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal displays.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Support payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts and loss prevention tasks.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing store associates.
