Job summary

Dunn-Edward is seeking a Store Assistant Manager for the Whittier, CA area to supervise and coach store staff while ensuring excellent customer service. You will work on-site with opening or closing shifts, contributing to store operations and team development.

The role requires English communication, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, including safety programs and performance reviews. Combines leadership with hands-on store duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in customer-facing sales/service.
• Recent paint store or construction retail management experience is a plus.
• Must be available to work opening or closing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assigns job duties to team members and directs their work.
• Trains store team members on all duties and customer service.
• Ranks team members’ performance.
• Administers store safety program.
• Manages the store PT recruiting project.
• Reports procedure or policy violations to Store Manager and takes corrective measures.
• Maintains professional store appearance, including product displays.
• Meets weekly with management team to discuss operational issues.
• Performs banking operations.
• Maintains standard of dress and appearance conducive to projecting a positive company image.
• Capable of performing all job classifications under supervision.
