Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Georgia LLC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, supervise store associates, and ensure a welcoming, safe shopping environment while upholding company policies and standards.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and multitasking abilities, with a focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail or grocery environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep store clean and presentable, including restrooms and floors
• And other duties as assigned
