Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, and coordinating staff to ensure a clean, welcoming store environment.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to lead a small team in a fast-paced retail setting, with focus on service quality and shrink prevention. Part-time position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain store cleanliness and presentation.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of associates.
• Ensure safety and compliance with policies.
