Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in an active retail environment. You will assist with daily functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and participate in opening/closing procedures while ensuring policy compliance and a safe, friendly store atmosphere.

The role emphasizes leadership of Store Associates, inventory control, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, welcoming space for shoppers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs; frequent standing, walking, stooping, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize and stock merchandise from deliveries to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Support payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment and professional interactions.
• Keep store clean; restrooms stocked and floors clean.
