Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Texas LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development in a high-energy retail environment.

The role requires strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with experience in team leadership. You will oversee merchandising, opening/closing tasks, and adherence to company policies while promoting a safe, welcoming shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays; ensure store standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and secure assets.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; ensure a safe, respectful environment.
• Ensure cleanliness of bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation; perform other duties as assigned.
