Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Texas LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. This role requires handling merchandise flow, staff guidance and safety compliance in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily store activities, supervising associates, processing directives, and maintaining clean, well-stocked floors and backrooms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional customer interactions.
• Maintain clean facilities, bathrooms, floors, trash and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
