Job summary

Bath & Body Works is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager in developing outstanding associates and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will positively impact growth across the store and lead as a brand ambassador in daily operations.

You will recruit, coach, and motivate the team, set clear performance goals, manage payroll targets, and ensure safe, engaging shopping experiences that reflect our values and standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results in a fast‑paced environment.
• Prior experience in a manager role, preferably in retail.
• Thrives in a customer‑first based retail environment.
• Ability to foster a customer‑focused selling culture.
• Effective communication and adaptability; able to coach in the moment.
• Ability to de‑escalate store and customer situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
• Set and reinforce clear performance expectations, results goals, and accountability.
• Act as Manager on Duty when scheduled to address customer experience or operational issues.
• Support action plans with Sales Leadership Team to improve results.
• Implement floorset direction to optimize the business and storytelling.
• Perform opening/closing routines including bank deposits and shipments.
• Lead daily direction for the team and monitor payroll targets.
• Provide performance feedback and coaching to managers and associates.
• Demonstrate selling behaviors and product knowledge to enhance experiences.
• Create genuine connections with customers and provide personalized recommendations.
• Train, coach, and motivate associates to improve selling and customer experience.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and adherence to policies.
