Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager with operations and supervision of store personnel. You will help maintain a hospitable work environment and ensure compliance with policies while driving sales and productivity.

You will participate in interviewing and training employees, scheduling shifts, and assisting in payroll and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales and customer service.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a pleasant work environment and maintain customer relations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting, employee, and store policies.
• Help meet sales, production, and expense goals for profitability.
• Sort and display merchandise from back room to the sales floor.
• Assist in interviewing applicants and training staff.
• Schedule staff to ensure full store coverage and post weekly rosters.
• Assist in payroll data collection biweekly and submit to finance.
• Order merchandise when needed and follow Rag Out calendar.
• Maintain cash handling and daily sales reports with finance.
• Attend manager meetings and communicate new policies to staff.
• Enforce safety measures and report hazards or damages.
• May cover other store locations and support work therapy program.
