Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Store Manager to create and sustain a pleasant and hospitable work environment and excellent customer relationships in order to motivate staff and meet sales goals.

Responsibilities include enforcing policies, meeting budgets, stocking merchandise, scheduling staff, and supervising work therapy beneficiaries to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in sales or retail environments is preferred.
• Ability to lead, manage and motivate others.
• Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
• Good communication skills and a valid driver's license with acceptable DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Create a pleasant and hospitable work environment with good customer relationships.
• Ensure compliance with the Guide to Thrift Store & Donations Operations and other policies; issue warnings as needed.
• Meet sales, production, and expense budget goals to maintain a profitable operation.
• Ensure merchandise is properly displayed on the sales floor and back room production is shifted to sales area.
• Schedule staff to ensure full store coverage and prepare payroll information biweekly.
• Provide training and supervision for new and unpaid staff; supervise beneficiaries in work therapy.
• Report safety, property, and regulatory compliance issues to management and coordinate inspections.
• Attend manager meetings and communicate new policies and directives to staff.
