Job summary

Total Wine & More is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to grow the brand by delivering best-in-class service and leading a sales-focused team in Overland Park, KS. You will support store operations, drive KPIs, and mentor staff to enhance product knowledge and customer experiences.

You will report to the Store Manager, recruit and train staff, manage payroll, inventory, merchandising, and ensure compliance with alcohol laws while upholding Total Rewards benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of work experience, 2+ years of managerial or supervisory role in a retail setting.
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics (KPMs).
• Assist in recruiting, training, and leading store team, including ongoing development to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
• Support day-to-day operations, including payroll, inventory, merchandising and shrink.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by leading by example and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere.
• Maintain vendor relationships to support store and inventory objectives.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and a safe store environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
