Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily operations of a retail store and donation center. You will support the Store Manager to create a positive, productive environment for customers and employees, driving sales and ensuring smooth operations.

The role includes recruiting, training, and developing staff, reviewing cash deposits and reports, and coordinating product flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of retail management experience.
• Regularly lifting up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifts up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead store activities to ensure strong sales and production performance.
• Support recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
• Train and develop staff in alignment with company standards.
• Review and verify daily sales reports, deposits, and financial procedures.
• Coordinate product flow and shipments to ensure inventory meets sales goals.
• Open and close the store, manage deposits, and secure the building.
• Provide excellent customer and donor service, including resolving complaints.
• Supervise the processing of donated goods to ensure quality and sales readiness.
• Organize and rotate merchandise by category and color.
• Encourage team motivation through communication and performance feedback.
• Report maintenance needs and safety concerns to store leadership.
• Act as Store Manager in their absence.
