Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Charlotte, NC to lead daily operations at a retail store and donation center. You will support the Store Manager, drive sales, and ensure a positive environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of retail management experience.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead store activities to ensure strong sales and production performance.
• Support recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
• Train and develop staff in alignment with company standards.
• Review daily sales reports, deposits, and financial procedures.
• Coordinate product flow and shipments to meet inventory goals.
• Open and close the store, manage deposits, and secure the building.
• Provide excellent customer and donor service, including resolving complaints.
• Supervise the processing of donated goods for sales readiness.
• Organize merchandise by category and color.
• Encourage team motivation through communication and feedback.
• Report maintenance and safety concerns to leadership.
• Act as Store Manager in their absence.
