Job summary

Boot Barn’s Assistant Store Manager works with the Store Manager to cultivate an environment that supports the company’s mission, vision, and values, while upholding exceptional customer service and partner engagement.

The role focuses on merchandising standards, store operations, and achieving sales goals, with leadership across team development and training, scheduling, and policy adherence. This on-site position reports to the Store Manager with district collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead partners to foster a service & selling culture and exceed overall expectations to build long-standing customer relationships.
• Review goals with partners, providing coaching, feedback, and recognition of excellence; be present on the sales floor during peak hours.
• Implement and maintain an environment of continuous learning and assist with partner training plans to improve store performance.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to adapt to changing business needs and procedures; adjust store schedule as needed; train staff on new policies.
• Assess and communicate localized customer needs to Store Manager.
• Plan and execute events to drive volume with outreach to the local community/market.
• Lead and coach associates in customer engagement through the Boot Barn Credit Card and Loyalty Programs; drive team goals.
• Ensure merchandise stock levels, presentations, and signing meet customer needs and brand guidelines.
• Accountable for markdown compliance, timely product receipts, and inventory integrity.
• Partner with Store Manager on shrink plans and drive the strategy with the store team.
• Maintain current knowledge across product categories and train partners accordingly.
• Complete opening and closing procedures in line with company standards and attendance policies.
• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures while maintaining professionalism and teamwork.
• Additional duties as assigned by District Manager or Store Support Center.
