Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Michigan LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development at our Michigan location. You will assist with daily store functions, help customers, manage merchandise flow, and support opening/closing tasks.

You will train and supervise store associates, ensure safety and policy compliance, and contribute to a welcoming, efficient shopping environment while maintaining store standards and loss-prevention practices.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Experience in retail store management preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to read and explain operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll records, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and storage areas.
• Other duties as assigned
