Job summary

Family Dollar in Mancelona, MI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver great customer service, and develop the store team.

You will assist with merchandising, opening/closing duties, loss prevention, scheduling, and enforcing company policies while maintaining a clean, welcoming shopping environment. This role is part-time and located in Mancelona, MI.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets and cash; enforce policies and procedures.
• Train and develop Store Associates; foster a safe, respectful environment.
• Ensure a clean store including bathrooms, floors; manage trash and restocking.
