Job summary

Family Dollar in Honor, Michigan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and help develop the team. You will assist with daily activities, merchandising, payroll and scheduling, and ensure adherence to company policies.

The role emphasizes maintaining clean, organized shelves and stockrooms, supervising associates, and upholding safety standards while providing friendly, professional customer interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
