Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team in managing store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure efficient merchandise handling from delivery to sales floor.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, adhering to directives, maintaining displays, and supervising store associates to foster a positive, safe environment while ensuring company standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and maintaining records
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect store assets including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff comply
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, and waste
• Other duties as assigned*
