Job summary

Family Dollar in Mobile, AL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, enhance customer service, and develop the team. You will assist with daily functions, stock, and ensuring store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drugstore preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions in a friendly, approachable manner.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Follow corporate directives, including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
