Family Dollar in Mobile, AL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with daily functions, assist customers, and ensure shelves are stocked and displays maintained.

This role requires strong communication, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while upholding safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Retail/store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, reaching).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and information requests related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional store-front fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and handle damaged merchandise and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling).
• Maintain stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness (bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation).
• Other duties as assigned.
