Job summary

Family Dollar in Linden, Alabama is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, supervise associates, and help maintain clean, organized sales floors and stockrooms.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling tasks, inventory handling, and ensuring safety and policy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits) and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept/mopped, trash removed, all areas neat.
